Be Thankful for the Small Things

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

This is a time to give thanks. Many give thanks for family and friends, health, even fun things like Diet Pepsi or chocolate.

I feel as though each day as we look around we all have so much to be thankful for. Even things we cannot see or quite understand.

I have many people ask about where their life or job will be in the future. Sometimes I see good things and others I have to try to share news that can be disheartening. But what I’ve learned is whether good or bad it’s always something that changes us. Makes us stronger or teaches a lesson. Change moves us, how we accept it and act on it determines the impact.

Be thankful for the small things for one day they may be what you long for. A hug from a loved one, the scent of fried chicken cooking, or a simple phone call to brighten your day. Take in everything, watch the sunset, take a minute to tell someone you care.

Know you are smiled upon and loved. You have loved ones all around, even the ones you can’t see that watch over from a far. Be thankful for what you have, express it in our own unique way. Live your life with purpose, a thankful heart and take chances, you’ll be glad you did.

One Last Moment- Lesson on Forgiveness

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

If you were to approach this bench and take a seat, having the chance to choose someone you have lost in your life to be there, who would you want to sit with you?  What would you say? What questions would you ask?  If you had one last moment with someone close to you, would you bring up an argument or pick a fight or would you take in every word, and make every syllable count?  Is there something you left unsaid that you now regret?

Too many times we waste energy on petty things, grudges take up too much space that can be used in more productive ways. Take a look at what you value most. Make amends wtih those people in your life that may have caused you feelings, or that you may have crossed. Many times we have things that have separated us because of a hurt feeling, or misunderstanding. This can be our biggest regret if not settled. Life is short. Look at what matters. Forgive where you can. Make peace with yourself, and with your loved ones here now. Live without regrets. You’ll be much happier knowing you’ve done all you can when you had the chance.

Making Life Changes

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

This year has been one of much change for me, career, personal growth, and spiritually. Most times when we face these things we learn who we really are. Self-discovery often comes in the midst of hard choices. We must look inside ourselves at what we want, what makes us happy and why we are on the path we are on. There will always be twists and turns. How we handle them makes us who we are. You can choose to be happy, choose to be strong, choose to make your life what you want. Follow your heart. Trust your first instincts. They won’t lead you astray. Whether you’re making a life change, a career change, or taking that turn in the road that you never expected, you’re never alone! You have many loved ones, guides, and people pulling for you. Know you are loved. Change is hard, choices can be difficult, but you can do it! I believe in you.
